Moorestown rec center hosts fall concerts

Performances include Opus Soul and Sundad

Mark your calendars for two outstanding concerts this fall. Local, world-class talent will be performing swing, jazz, blues and any combination of the above. Both concerts will take place on Friday evenings at 7 p.m. on the third floor of the Church Street Rec Center.

Opus Soul will perform on Oct. 7. The duo, Peter Romano and Thom Kent combine an eclectic mix of blues, funk, jazz and rock. Their guitar and keyboard covers include everything from modern renditions of early R&B, Blues classics, John Coltrane, Eric Clapton, Little Feat, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits and Bob Marley. Soulful originals are mixed in for a truly entertaining experience.

The World Fusion group Sundad will perform on Nov. 18. The father/son duo – John Eurell Sr. and John Eurell Jr. play acoustic guitars accompanied by Abe Speller on percussion and Kendell Buchanan on bass. Sundad is an acoustic band whose compositions, recordings, and live performances are filled with beautiful rhythms and harmonies. The Bands two CD’s Journey to Eternity and the Journey Continues are both first round Grammy nominations. Like all good World Fusion music – their music is peppered with musical influences from the Mediterranean, Middle East, Spain and Africa.

We look forward to seeing you at the rec. Please check out all our new classes for fall and winter online for registration at www.moorestownrec.com.
