On August 21st, 2022, at approximately 1:47 pm, Deptford Township Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to the Republic Bank (1750 Deptford Center Rd.) for a panic alarm. As officers were responding to the bank, it was reported that this call was actually a “robbery in progress.”

Deptford officers quickly arrived at the bank and were able to gather pertinent details regarding the suspect and the vehicle the suspect was operating. It was determined that a lone, female suspect allegedly passed a demand note to a bank teller and fled in a vehicle after receiving a sum of money.

A short time later, another Deptford Patrol Officer observed a vehicle that matched the description in the immediate area of the bank. A motor vehicle stop was initiated, and it was determined that the operator was the suspect in this incident. Upon apprehension, the female was formally charged with robbery, theft, and terroristic threats. This incident is currently under investigation by the Deptford Township Police Criminal Investigations Division (CID).

The suspect was identified as:

Name: Kiara Pierce

Age: 33

Residence: Sicklerville, NJ

Criminal charges are mere allegations of wrongdoing. Every person accused of an offense is presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
