GATEWAY
The Gators went 3-8 and earned a playoff berth while competing in one of the toughest small-school conferences around, the WJFL Diamond Division. Now moving to the Royal, the competition won’t be as difficult and the Gators should be highly competitive. The strength of the team is in the trenches. Other returning two-way players are Sr. OL-LB Joe Toner (6-0, 220), Sr. OL-LB Rich Burt (6-0, 200) and Jr. OL-DL Ty Binck (6-2, 240). CUMBERLAND
The Colts were 1-8, 0-5 while competing last year in the United Division. This is a division where the Colts should be competitive, especially with an experienced team returning. PITMAN
After shutting down the program in the 2017 season to regroup after a numbers shortage, Pitman has rebounded quite well. In the past three seasons the Panthers are 15-10 after going 4-5 last season competing in the Freedom Division. The Panthers just missed out on a winning season, falling, 14-8 at Thanksgiving rival Clayton. While Pitman has lost 11 seniors, the Panthers return six starters on offense and eight on D so this should again be a competitive team. Among returning two-way players, Jr. OL-DL-LB Cole McFadden (5-10, 170), had 41 tackles, 7 TFL and 1 fumble recovery. He was a first-team all-conference choice. Jr. ATH-DB Keros Cooper (5-6, 145) rushed for 121 yards and 2 Tds, while also having an INT. So. ATH-DB Trey Tinges (5-8, 145) rushed for 121 yards and 1 TD, Jr. TE-LB Brayden Yordy (6-2, 175) contributed 22 tackles, along with 5 receptions for 67 yards and 2 Tds. Jr. WR-DB Porter Kostuk (6-2, 140) contributed 12 tackles. Jr. RbiLB Chase Rollins (5-9, 160) rushed for 76 yards and 1 TD and added 9 tackles. Another key returning veteran is Jr. TE-LB Jon Spaeth (6-0, 170). Sr. WR-TE-LB Cole Tinges (6-0, 175) is a transfer from Kingsway who is expected to make a big contribution. Other key newcomers include Sr. K Harry Tartaglia (6-2, 165), a first-year player, along with the following who are up from JV – Sr. OL-DL Mike Giovinetti (6-5, 310), Jr. QB-DB Kyle Kubat (6-0, 145), So. WR-DB Tyler Morrone (5-10, 145) and Jr. OL-DL Sean Powell (5-10, 175). Kubat is the projected starter at QB.
