BARKING LOT SIPS ‘AND BREWS’

Event to be held this Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Animal Welfare Association (AWA), the oldest and largest low-cost spay/neuter clinic, adoption center and no-kill animal shelter in South Jersey, will hold its first ever “Barking Lot Sips and Brews” event on Wednesday, August 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at AWA, 509 Centennial Boulevard, Voorhees, N.J. The event is open to the public and attendees are invited to bring their comfiest lawn chairs and enjoy drinks, live music, food trucks, lawn games, and tours of AWA’s brand-new building where they can see dozens of cats, dogs, and small animals inside the new state-of-the-art facility, learn how the staff of AWA cares for its animals prior to adoptions as well as learn more about the exciting community programs AWA offers.

“We are really excited to begin a new yearly tradition with ‘Barking Lot Sips and Brews’ here at AWA,” says new AWA Executive Director, Laura Houston. “What better way is there to celebrate summer than to come together, enjoy great music, drinks and food and introduce people to AWA’s pet and community programs.”

Music for AWA’s “Barking Lot Sips and Brews” will be provided by local Moorestown, NJ band Opus Soul, cocktails and brews (available for purchase) will be provided by Tito’s, Dr. Brewlittle’s Beer Company and Armageddon Brewing, dinner and snacks can be purchased from Matty G Dogz and Red’s Rolling Restaurant. Of course, AWA’s Barktini Bar will be open for doggie “mocktails.” Individuals wishing to purchase a $25 drink ticket wristband must show a valid ID.  AWA Animal Adoption & Education Center Tours will be booked on a first come, first served basis. And sorry – furry friends, while welcome at the event, may NOT go on the tour.
