Board of Education Selects Claudine Morano to fill board vacancy

Morano will serve on the board through December 2022

Moorestown Township Public School’s Board of Education welcomed a new member, Claudine Morano, at its public meeting on April 26. After interviewing candidates to fill a vacancy created after the resignation of Mr. Jack Fairchild, the Board of Education members nominated and voted to select Mrs. Morano at the April 5 public meeting.

Upon Mrs. Morano’s nomination, Dr. Sandra Alberti recognized Morano’s regular presence with the board through good times and bad and added that her perspective as a professional advocate would be a great strength and addition to the board.

“I was truly honored that the board selected me and I can already see the potential and impact we can have working together to implement a shared vision for the district,” said Morano.

Mrs. Morano, who also goes by Claudine Leone, has been a resident of Moorestown since 2004 with her husband, Ralph Morano, and their sons, Alec (21) and Eric (15). Alec and Eric both attended South Valley, UES and WAMS. Alec continued his education at Eustace Prep and onto Penn State University, and Eric is a sophomore at MHS. Over the last 18 years, Mrs. Morano has engaged our school district as a parent, student advocate, room parent, and volunteer.

Mrs. Morano is a graduate of Northeastern University and Seton Hall Law School. She is president of Government Affairs Counsel, a boutique lobbying firm in Trenton, which helps individuals and nonprofit organizations navigate the intricacies of state government, law making and regulation.

Mrs. Morano will serve on the board through December 2022 and will have the opportunity to run for a seat on the board in this upcoming general election on Nov. 8.
