Burlington County Farm Fair is making its return next month and to mark the occasion, Burlington County Clerk Joanne Schwartz will perform wedding ceremonies for couples interested in marrying with the iconic county fair as the backdrop.
“The farm fair has been a staple of Burlington County for decades, and we’re thrilled to see it make its long-awaited return this summer following a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic,” said Schwartz. “For couples interested in a memorable country fair wedding, now’s your chance.”
Although the farm fair will be held for five days beginning on July 19 through July 23 at the Burlington County Fairgrounds at the corner of Jacksonville-Jobstown Road and Route 206 in Springfield, Schwartz will perform the ceremonies free-of-charge on July 20.
Weddings will be held in the Dining Pavilion, which will be decorated with barn quilts for the occasion and will feature the iconic fair and Fairgrounds horse pavilion as backdrops. A stone water fountain is also located near the entrance and can add to the atmosphere.
Couples interested in the opportunity should contact the Clerk’s Office at (609) 265-5189 to book a time on July 20. There is no fee for the service, but couples must obtain a marriage license from the municipality where either the bride or groom resides or from Springfield Township if both the bride and groom reside outside New Jersey.
Springfield is the town where the Burlington County Fairgrounds are located. The 66-acre site was previously part of a sod farm purchased by the county in 2005.
“Farm fair celebrates our county’s deep and enduring ties to farming and agriculture. It’s grown to become synonymous with summer fun,” said Schwartz, who has performed 568 marriages since taking office as county clerk in 2019. “Multiple generations have attended the fair annually and it has become a favorite event for thousands of people from across the region. Holding weddings there will hopefully create a new tradition. For couples interested in tying the knot this summer, you won’t find a more memorable location or iconic backdrop for your special day.”
