Cherry Hill Public Library celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month

Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation with Shazia Zaman will take place on Saturday from 2:30 to 3:30 at the Cherry Hill Public Library.

This past year has brought changes and challenges for many. Worry and stress impacts our mental and physical well-being. Join the Cherry Hill Public Library in some quiet time for self-care to experience and embody mindfulness through a guided meditation.

Learn the art of present moment awareness and reclaim peace, clarity and the simple pleasure of slowing down on Saturday, May 7 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 p.m. at the Cherry Hill Public Library’s lower conference center. Learn about mindfulness and its many benefits. This practice will offer an opportunity to work with different mindfulness tools such as breath, body awareness, sensations and sounds. This is a compassion-based practice, please bring an open heart and be ready to relax and rejuvenate. Followed by Q&A. Open to new and experienced practitioners.

About the Instructor:

Shazia Zaman is a certified Mindfulness Meditation instructor and practitioner. She trained with two contemporary Mindfulness Masters from the Buddhist tradition, Dr. Jack Kornfield and Dr. Tara Brach. Shazia is also certified with the International Mindfulness Teachers Association as a professional instructor. She is a certified Reiki Master and a Master Level-I Alchemy Sound Bowl practitioner. Shazia’s personal practice involves daily meditations and annual silent retreats to deepen and embody her own spiritual experience. She teaches privately and with Bodhi Tree Sangha, an organization that offers refuge to practitioners who wish to develop a daily practice and deepen their mindfulness and meditation experience. She also offers weekly meditation classes on PrimePD, a virtual wellness platform for people with Parkinson’s.
