Troop 7044 is pleased to announce that Eagle Scout Bryce Priggemeier, Jr. completed his Eagle Scout Board of Review on Feb. 10 and was honored at a Court of Honor on Saturday, April 30 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Pitman, N.J.
The Eagle Scout rank is scouting’s highest honor. Only four percent of all Boy Scouts attain the rank of Eagle. To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a Scout must earn a total of 21 merit badges including 13 required merit badges. These required merit badges include skills in swimming, lifesaving, cooking, camping, personal fitness, personal management, environmental science and citizenship.
The most difficult and rewarding component of earning the Eagle Scout rank is developing a service project, coordinating a plan to execute the project, and leading a group of volunteers to complete the project.
For his service project, Priggemeier raised money to purchase four commercial/industrial outdoor hand sanitizer stations which he then led a group of scouts in the installation of these units in parks around Harrison Township. He has most recently served as Troop 7044’s senior patrol leader.
Priggemeier is currently a senior at Clearview Regional High School in Mullica Hill. There he’s wrestled for the Pioneers and will be matriculating in the fall to The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. where he will continue his leadership training and major in mechanical engineering with the prestigious Corps of Cadets of the Military College of South Carolina to eventually serve as a commissioned officer in the United States military.
