Samaritan Center hosts ‘daughters without mothers’ support group

Six-week online sessions will be facilitated by trained bereavement professionals.

The connection between a mother and her daughter is a complex and special relationship. When a mother passes away, adult daughters may struggle with feelings of grief, guilt and loneliness at the loss of someone who is both a mentor and a friend.

The Samaritan Center for Grief Support is providing a six-week online Daughters Without Mothers support group for adult women grieving the loss of their mother. This online workshop is complementary and facilitated by trained bereavement professionals who will offer grief education and tips for treating yourself with compassion. Most importantly, the group will offer a space for women from the South Jersey community to come together to tell their mother’s story and honor her memory.

The six-week support group will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates: April 19, April 26, May 3, May 10, May 17 and May 24.

Pre-registration for the virtual sessions is required by calling (856) 596-8550 or emailing at CFGcounseling@SamaritanNJ.org.

Please note, sessions are subject to change. For additional information, please visit https://samaritannj.org/resources/grief-support-groups-south-nj/.
