Israel is a stunningly beautiful country that despite being mired in political and military conflict for its entire existence is still a place where many across the world feel at home and find spiritual connection. Israel is also a place of great artistic creativity, and music is an integral part of its national identity. Throughout Israel’s complicated history, composers of all musical genres have sought to combine both Jewish and non-Jewish elements to create a distinctive musical culture.

“I am excited to share this engaging evening – I hope everyone feels embraced and immersed by Israel’s rich musical culture,” said Harrison.

This musical event is being offered by the Adult Education Committee of Congregation M’kor Shalom as its fundraiser for the programming year and is co-sponsored by the Music and Scholar-in-Residence Committees. It will be offered both in-person and online. $18/person in attendance; $18/device for remote participants. Online registration is required via the M’kor Shalom website mkorshalom.org.
