On May 4 at 6 p.m. the Moorestown Service Club Council will host the annual Citizen of the Year award dinner at The Community House. The SCC is proud to announce that long-time residents John and Kathy Logue have been nominated as this year’s recipients and will be so honored with testimonials, proclamations and good cheer.
The award dinner festivities will also include the recognition of two of our local Moorestown high school students, Spencer A. Talbot and Samantha Krasner. All are welcome to attend. Tickets are $60 and can be purchased from any service club (Breakfast and Lunch Rotary, Lions club) member, as well as at the following locations: the Community House, Moorestown Hardware, Coldwell Banker (Main Street) and Ralphs Market.
John and Kathy have done their very best to make Moorestown a special place to live and raise a family. For the last 40 years, they have remained integral participants in Moorestown’s volunteer community.
In May 1978, John was appointed as Deputy Township Manager/Township Clerk and now lives on Harding Ave in Moorestown where he raised his children with wife, Kathy. They had humble beginnings as volunteer coaches for their kids’ sports teams, as well as scouting.
John and Kathy participated in many town committees and boards. John’s community service spans 11 different organizations in Moorestown and five county organizations, while Kathy’s volunteer involvement spans nine different Moorestown organizations.
Kathy’s most recent volunteer service involves Percheron Park and The Moorestown Tree Planting & Preservation Committee. She was a Board Member and Secretary of the Moorestown Business Association (MBA) from 2006 to 2009 and also served on the Moorestown Appearance Committee for a year in 2010. She has also participated in Make It Moorestown Celebrations Committee, played a role as an alternate member of the Moorestown Planning Board and spent time on the board of education as Vice President.
John has served and chaired many boards and advisory committees including: the township’s planning board; the Economic Development Advisory Committee; Moorestown’s Zoning Board; the West Moorestown Task Force; the Low and Moderate Income Housing Advisory Committee; Moorestown’s Visioning Advisory Committee; the Make It Moorestown Celebration Committee and the Fireworks events. His volunteer work in Moorestown also stretched to memberships in the Rotary and Y’s Men clubs.
John has also been an active participant and volunteer for the Burlington County Agricultural Development Board; the Burlington County Republican Committee; the Burlington County Republican State Committee; Bishop B.J. Eustace General Assembly and Santa Monica Council – Knights of Columbus.
The Service Clubs salute both John and Kathy for their dedication and volunteerism and announce them as Moorestown’s 2022 Citizens of the Year.
