Bomb threat at Katz Jewish Community Center turns up negative

The JCC is scheduled to reopen at approximately 5 p.m

On Tuesday March 8, 2022 at approximately 8:40 a.m. police responded to the Katz  Jewish Community Center, at 1301 Springdale Road, for the report of a bomb threat. 

Police and Investigators from the Cherry Hill Police Department responded on scene and  were assisted by federal agents with the F.B.I. as well as several K-9’s from the Burlington  County Sheriff’s Department. The building was self-evacuated and swept for explosives with negative results. The JCC was scheduled to reopen at approximately 5 p.m. The  Cherry Hill Police Department commends the JCC Staff for their response and assistance  and appreciates the cooperation of local residents and parents that were on location. 

This  incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the  Cherry Hill Police Department Investigative Unit at (856) 488-7833.
