The Burlington County Health Department will hold a pop-up vaccination clinic next week as part of a statewide push to get more residents vaccinated and boosted before the spring.
“Burlington County is among the state leaders in rates of vaccination and boosters and we’re seeing the results,” said Dr. Herb Conaway, director of the Burlington County Health Department.
“The daily numbers of new infections and hospitalizations have dropped significantly, and there’s reason to believe we can enjoy a much more normal spring and summer than a year ago. Unfortunately, for the unvaccinated and unboosted, the danger will remain high unless they act now to get the maximum protection available.”
The special COVID Booster Week clinic will be held on Feb. 23 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Emergency Services Training Center, 53 Academy Drive, Westampton. First and second doses of Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines will be available, along with boosters for all three of those vaccines.
In addition, shots continue to be available at Burlington County’s four static vaccination clinics in Evesham, Bordentown, Pemberton and Palmyra, and at the Burlington County Vaccine Mega-Site in the Eastgate Square Shopping Center in Mount Laurel.
The Burlington County clinics hours and locations are:
Mondays: The Nesbit Center, 1 Anderson Road, Pemberton (noon to 6 p.m.)
Tuesdays: Palmyra Community Center, 30 West Broad Street (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Wednesdays: The Gibson House, 535 East Main Street, Marlton (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Thursdays: Bordentown Senior Center, 3 Municipal Drive, Bordentown (noon to 6 p.m.)
Walkups are welcome at any of the clinics and residents can make appointments at https://patientportal.advancedmd.com/149623/onlinescheduling/existing or by calling 1-844-569-0390.
The Burlington County Vaccine Mega-Site operates Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Appointments are available online at https://www.virtua.org/
More than 304,000 Burlington County residents have received their primary series of vaccine (two doses of Pfizer or Moderna or one dose of Johnson and Johnson) and more than 150,000 gave received a third-dose or booster.
Seventy-eight percent of Burlington County’s population of people five and older have received their primary series of vaccines and 56 percent of the residents 12 and up who are eligible for boosters have received one.
The county’s booster rate is the best in New Jersey, according to the latest New Jersey Department of Health vaccination statistics.
“Our Health Department is proud the incredible progress we’ve achieved but we still need our vaccination and booster numbers to go even higher to guard against the spring COVID surges we saw in 2020 and again last year,” Conaway said. “We need as many people as possible to have the maximum available protection, so we’re continuing to make vaccine readily available and accessible both at our county clinics and at the Mega-Site.”
