The Haddon Fortnightly, a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs, has accepted the challenge of the Alumnae Association of Douglass College to conduct a special month-long service project during February – Helping Women, PERIOD. The goal of this pop-up project is to provide free feminine hygiene products to women in need.
This project will make an important difference in the lives of women and girls in our area.
Statistics show that one in five girls in the U.S. miss school due to lack of menstrual products. Nearly two-thirds of low-income women surveyed by the Obstetrics & Gynecology Journal reported struggling to afford period products at some point during the previous year.
The Haddon Fortnightly is sponsoring the collection of new, unopened menstrual products for donation to Distributing Dignity, a Cherry Hill-based nonprofit organization. Distributing Dignity will distribute all donated products to local nonprofit entities that provide services to women in need, for distribution to their clients.
Members of the community are invited to support this worthwhile project directly by making donations of unopened feminine hygiene products (sanitary pads, tampons and pantiliners) during the month of February. Donations may be dropped off at the office of:

Donors are encouraged to drop items off between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. When entering the office to drop off donations, please wear a mask. If no one is in the office when you arrive, please leave your donations in the marked bin outside the office door.
