Kingsway Services’ adult program receives donation from Dalzell family

Donation inspires Matching Gift campaign to benefit growing program.

The Kingsway Services’ Adult Program has received a gift of $100,000 from the Dalzell Family, a gift that will have a major impact on the growth of this much needed community service.

Kingsway’s Adult Program supports individuals over the age of 21 with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Attendees are encouraged to participate in life skills, cultural outings, and building independence by engaging in community activities. Jolyne Dalzell’s granddaughter, Liesl, has participated in the program since its inception.

Liesl’s family continues to rally around her and others with IDD to ensure that they have an enriched, meaningful life. “My family’s beliefs have always been to support those in need,” says Jolyne. “It’s an honor to contribute to such a worthy cause, one that touches so close to home. We would like to keep the momentum going and encourage others to join us in making a small impact in the lives of our loved ones. We hope others will consider contributing to the Adult Program. Any amount will make a difference in our children’s lives.”

“This gift will make an enormous difference in the trajectory of our program, and the lives of our clients and their families,” says Rachel Chan, Kingsway’s CEO. “With over 100 individuals across South Jersey on the program’s waiting list, and many similar programs remaining closed due to the pandemic, Kingsway is more committed to this program and this population than ever.”

Kingsway’s adult program opened just months before the Covid-19 pandemic struck, which forced the closure of the program for nearly a year. As a result, the Adult Program suffered major setbacks in continuity, staffing, and transportation, making this support especially transformative.

As a result of this gift, Kingsway is launching a matching gift campaign this month to inspire others to join in and support our mission to serve the adult special needs community. The campaign will run through the month of December, during which time all contributions will be matched dollar for dollar. Donations can be made online at www.kingswaylearningcenter.org/donate, or checks can be sent to Kingsway Services, Inc., 244 W. Route 38, Moorestown, NJ 08057.
