Harrison Township Committee preps for Lights on Main event

Social affairs permits granted to businesses who participate

The Harrison Township Committee held a meeting on Nov. 15, its only public session for the month of November.

Few resolutions were made during the session. The annual audit report for 2020 was officially designated as being reviewed by the committee, which has reported it to the local finance board. A redevelopment plan for Block 40, lot 2.01, also was adopted.

A maintenance guarantee was issued to Parke Bank for a project by Vertex Properties LLC. Harbaugh House Inc. was granted permission to lease as well.

In new business, blueplate restaurant was granted a social affairs permit for the Lights on Main Street event on Nov. 26 and 27. Distribution of alcohol will be from 6 to 10 p.m. on both days. Serendipity XIX also received a social affairs permit for Nov. 27.

The committee also reminded residents that leaf collection is still taking place through the remainder of the year. The following dates include collection days in designated zones.

The schedule is as follows:

Week of Nov. 29: Zone 1
Week of Dec. 6: Zones 2 and 3
Week of Dec. 13: Zones 4, 5 and 6
Week of Dec. 20: Zones 1, 2 and 3
Week of Dec. 27: Zones 4, 5 and 6

Harrison Township’s next committee meeting will take place on Monday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. in the municipal building. The last scheduled meeting for the year will be held on Monday, Dec. 20, at the same time and location.
