Support the Strawbridge Lake Beautification Committee this Giving Tuesday

Strawbridge Lake has been a landmark in Moorestown for nearly 100 years and draws many people throughout the area who come to enjoy its beauty and nature.

Be a part of Giving Tuesday on Nov. 30 by supporting The Strawbridge Lake Beautification Committee so they may continue their efforts in improving the beauty and amenities offered at Strawbridge Lake.

For the past four years, the SLBC has funded a yearly lake edge cleanup, and as 2022 approaches, the plan is to fund the installation of a large floating dock near Kings Highway (they are currently waiting for Township approval) as well as to install two more floating docks at other locations on the lake. This will enable residents to enjoy launching their crafts onto the Lake with ease and will further enhance the total lake experience.

Efforts for the beautification of Strawbridge Lake began in 2018 when the SLBC was formed as 501(C)3 non-profit organization, whose mission is to raise funds for the beautification and improvement of Strawbridge Lake Park. Since then, the group has held the Annual Moorestown Paddle Board/Kayak and Family Festival event to raise funds for improvements. This year’s event was the biggest and most successful thus far, thanks to the participation and involvement of local volunteers and area residents who attended.

In addition to the SLBC’s efforts to beautify the lake, other projects have been completed to improve the Lake experience, including the installation of a walking/running path through grant funds, a township-funded dredging of the Children’s Pond and lower lake basins, gazebo restoration, installation of new playground equipment and general clean-up. The Committee continues to apply for grants and raise funds to continue its mission.

Giving Tuesday is the perfect opportunity to make this happen and to help a local non-profit group! Please consider making a one-time or recurring donation to this effort by visiting www.strawbridgelakebc.org. Donations are tax deductible. If you are unable to make a monetary donation, please consider volunteering for the coming year by sending an email to [email protected]. New volunteers are always welcome.

Strawbridge Lake has been a landmark in Moorestown for nearly 100 years and draws many people throughout the area who come to enjoy its beauty and nature. The SLBC hopes to bring Strawbridge Lake back to the beautiful town treasure that it once was through community involvement and fundraising events.
