The Deptford Township committee held a regular meeting on Nov. 8 that focused on new business and applications.

A standout ordinance will provide vendors, seasonal sellers and the like with an adopted No-Knock List so township residents can prohibit soliciting, canvassing or peddling on their properties. Information on the creation of this list and how to register will be provided in the near future.

Resolutions included refunding overbill of taxes for multiple Deptford residents and businesses, including Lereta LLC. A resolution to place property maintenance liens was also approved.

The committee approved and issued a redemption game license to Round 1 Bowling and Amusement. Other licenses issued included motor license renewals for Carpenter Auto LLC; Ant’s Hot Rods and Classic Cars; Deptford Amera; and Rent-a-Wreck, as well as service-station licenses for Liberty Gas; BJ’s Wholesale Club No. 85; Speedway; Quenzels; Sunoco; and Sam’s Club.

Deptford supported a regional municipal court study in Gloucester County and the township committed to participating in the governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse fiscal grant cycle, with a time frame from July 2020 to June 2025.

The committee also endorsed and supported the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s missing moves project on I-295 Route 42. The work is expected to improve and rebuild ramps on the interstate.

The last resolution discussed at the meeting was authorization of a contract for abatement services under a national cooperative contract for ATI Restoration LLC.

The session also had reports from the township clerk, tax collector and board of health. The committee work session for the month is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 22, at 6 p.m.
