Fall festival brings family fun to Andaloro Farm

Activities included balloon art, face painting and a craft fair

The annual Deptford fall festival on Oct. 9 boasted hay rides, gourmet food trucks and live music from Goodfella’s Band.

The family event at Andaloro Farm in Westville was sponsored by the Deptford mayor and council and had plenty of activities for those young and old. A continuous and free shuttle service was provided to and from the farm and the free parking lot at Deptford Recreation Center.

For the kids, there were balloon artists and face painting. Families lined up for the hourly hay rides, which traversed around the entire farm. A small craft fair was held during the festival as well, so local artists and crafters could offer their products. Some of the stands sold all sorts of handmade items, including blankets, instruments, jewelry, plush pumpkins, tie dye T-shirts and more.

Eight & Sand Beer Company sold a selection of beer that included special flavors like Somethin’ Pumpkin, a pumpkin-spiced vanilla cream ale, and Guac is Extra, a blue corn lime lager.

Food trucks flourished with items from local businesses such as Dominic’s Tavern, Kona Ice, Filippo’s and Hands Down BBQ. The local Boy Scout troop sponsored a funnel cake stand alongside the food options.

As the sky became darker, a Halloween movie was projected on an outdoor screen.

Next up is the Deptford trunk or treat at the Deptford Recreation Center on Thursday, Oct. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m.
