The blaze was found in the kitchen of apartment  12, and successfully extinguished before spreading to adjoining apartments. As a result of the fire, one resident  was displaced while another resident was treated for minor smoke inhalation on scene by AMR. Fire  Department personnel from Blackwood, Chews Landing, Lambs Terrace, Erial, and Pine Hill Fire Departments  responded and assisted.

Camden County Fire Marshall’s Office responded to investigate. While this incident does not appear to be  suspicious at this time, it is being investigated by the Gloucester Township Police and County Fire Marshal.

This is a reminder to check your fire suppression systems and alert / audible alarm systems to ensure they are  operational. Smoke alarms are a key part of any fire escape plan. When there is smoke, there is fire which can  spread quickly. Working smoke alarms give you early warning, so you can get outside quickly.
