Director Robert M. Damminger and Senate President Steve Sweeney advised that all members assisting Gloucester County with tornado relief will have proper identification or credentials. They have deployed Gloucester County Office of Emergency Medical Services (GCEMS) and Public Safety Dispatchers to check door-to-door on residents’ well-being.

Director Robert M. Damminger has donated dumpsters to the Wenonah Borough to clear debris off the streets. The Commissioners have also brought dumpsters to residents affected in Harrison Township at Salvatore Ave.

The county will continue to offer these dumpsters to all affected townships and boroughs as streets continue to be cleared across the county.

Gloucester County Landfill will open Sept. 7 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for debris removal for residents.

Gloucester County Department of Public Works Crews are picking up debris at houses across the county. Residents can leave debris on the edge of their property and crews will pick it up. Please be patient. The Gloucester County Landfill is also an option for affected areas.

The priority remains to make roadways and side-roads clear for travel.

Commissioner Robert M. Damminger declared a State of Emergency through Sept. 5. Gloucester County’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) continues to work directly with most affected municipalities to assess damage, provide resources and assist residents.

With the advocacy of Senate President Steve Sweeney, Gloucester County will have the federal funding that it needs to recover quickly and effectively.

The Gloucester County Reception Center will be open Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Mental health professionals are being deployed to neighborhoods suffering from the devastation. Volunteers range from NJ Disaster Response Crisis Counselors Gloucester County Chapter (DRCC), Traumatic Loss Coalition (TLC) and Tri-State K-9 Response Team.

Gloucester County and the Gloucester County Office of Emergency Management are not in need of donations at this time.
