The Medford Arts Center announces the winners of 2021 Fall Fine Art Show

The Medford Arts Center, 8 North Main Street in Medford, NJ is pleased to announce the winners of the 2021 Fall Fine Art Show, which can be found either online at www.MedfordArts.com or in person at the Gallery which is open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5 PM.

This eclectic show, including all media, represents a full range of color with rich subject matter. The show was juried by artist Micheal Cagno. Micheal is the Executive Director of the Noyes Museum of Richard Stockton University, where he also serves as an adjunct professor.

First Place Award was won by Micheal Scherfen with a watercolor entitled Afghan Tribesman. The Juror’s statement read, “The portrait is very direct and engaging with a heightened sense of realism.”

Second Place Award was won by Richard Hoffman with a watercolor entitled Kirby’s Mill. The juror’s statement read, “True sense of place. It is as if I just visited home”.

Third Place Award was won by Kuruma Reid with a pen and ink drawing entitled Black Molasses. The juror’s comments read, “Absolute connection to the piece. The details illustrate a strong sense of emotion”.

Honorable Mentions were won by: Susan Barnes, Dara Tesse, Jason Green, Bluma Smith and Theodore Herublein.

Funding was made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts through a grant to the Burlington County Board of County Commissioners.
