The Inter-Community Celebration Association, Inc. (ICCA) has made the difficult decision to cancel the 74rd annual Fourth of July Celebration Parade in compliance with NJ State COVID-19 guidelines for public gatherings.
The committee made the difficult decision after considering the many aspects of planning, fundraising, staffing, and executing the events amid the public health concerns and economic uncertainty attributed to the pandemic which has impacted communities for the past year.
“Our first priority is the health and safety of the communities that support and attend our event,” said ICCA President Bill Adair. “More importantly, the day’s events are entirely funded by community businesses and private donations. We understand the difficult situation many of these individuals, families, and small businesses have been operating in for the past year.”
“We are incredibly grateful to the community for their continued support of the ICCA’s July 4th Celebration,” said Adair. “We look forward to making our 75th anniversary Independence Day celebration event in 2022 extra special with a week full of events.”
The committee plans to continue the tradition of contributing back to a community organization with a $500.00 donation to the Berlin Inter-Community Ambulance Association. This organization has had increased demand for their services/resources due to the Covid-19 health crisis.
The Inter-Community Celebration Association, Inc. (ICCA) is an all-volunteer 501(C)3 non-for-profit corporation. It is the ICCA’s mission to put on a family-friendly Independence Day parade that showcases the heritage, pride, and creativity of our towns while featuring our area schools, clubs, teams, businesses, religious and civic organizations. All aspects of the day’s events, including parade, bands, performers, and insurance are funded by voluntary contributions from the supporting municipalities, businesses and individuals.
The ICCA is in the process of planning for the 75th anniversary celebration. Please contact the ICCA to volunteer and support our plans for the parade and events in 2022. Visit www.berlinicca.org for more information, to volunteer, and to support this tradition.
