RCBC held support walk for Suicide Prevention Foundation

Rowan College at Burlington County held its walk to support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention on April 23.

Rowan College at Burlington County held its walk on April 23 to support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness Campus Walks. Although the organization had switched to virtual events, the college decided that we could safely hold an outdoor event with masks. We had about 40 participants and raised almost $3,000 which nearly tripled our goal. This was the first time a college group held an event on campus since June and gave a nice test run for May when we will hold five on-campus graduation ceremonies. Some pix are attached.

Here’s a quote from RCBC President Dr. Michael A. Cioce:

“Mental health is a big concern for the Rowan College at Burlington County community and it was very rewarding to both support suicide prevention efforts and spend a healthy afternoon on campus surrounded by fellow students, faculty, and staff, many of whom have not seen each other in person for many months. I was overwhelmed by the community’s generosity to support a wonderful cause.”
