County records 117 more COVID cases

The Camden County Department of Health on Thursday revealed 117 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 47,562 in Camden County today and 1,167 total fatalities.

“Every day that we administer more vaccines into the community, we get closer to herd immunity and the end of this pandemic,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“There are still more than one hundred thousand eligible county residents who have not gotten their first dose yet. We have opened up the County vaccination center in Blackwood to walk-in patients and are continuing our aggressive push to get people vaccinated with pop-up clinics tomorrow in the City of Camden. If you haven’t gotten your vaccine yet, now is the time to do so – it has never been easier.”

Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

To date, 392,524 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Camden County. There are 233,160 people with at least one vaccine dose, and 175,489 people who are fully vaccinated.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,381 confirmed resident cases and 1,389 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 47,562 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 466 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,167 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.

For those residents who are having difficulty coping with the COVID-19 crisis, please call the Mental Health Association in New Jersey, Inc. at (877) 294- HELP (4357) between the hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for emotional support, guidance and mental health referrals as needed. Residents should call 9-1-1 during emergencies only, for those with questions or concerns related to the coronavirus, call the free, 24-hour public hotline at 2-1-1 or 1-800-962-1253, or text NJCOVID to 898-211. Residents should also download the COVID Alert NJ mobile application on their Apple or Android device where they can view the latest information regarding COVID-19 in the state and be notified of potential exposures to the virus.
