On Tuesday January 7, 2014 the Pine Hill and Gloucester Township Police Departments became the first two police departments in the country to become participating members of the Missing Kids Readiness Project.

Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins and Pine Hill Police Chief Christopher Winters are proud to announce that both agencies have been re-certified in the Missing Kids Readiness Program by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in Alexandria Virginia.

To renew their membership, and to meet the requirements of the program, the Pine Hill Police Department and  the Gloucester Township Police Department both worked with NCMEC on their missing child policies to ensure  they met the critical elements of NCMEC’s Law Enforcement Model Policy and Procedures for Reports of Missing and Abducted Children. In addition, the command staffs of both departments have attended training, and all officers, patrol officers, detectives, sergeants, lieutenants, and staff completed the online training  required for their membership. In addition, the Gloucester Township Police Department Dispatch Center and telecommunicators have also been re-certified by the NCMEC.

Armed with the information, knowledge and operational resources gained through meeting the Program criteria, the Gloucester Township Police Department and Pine Hill Police Department both continue to position themselves to respond more quickly, comprehensively, and effectively when a child’s life may be at stake.

By demonstrating remarkable leadership, and making this commitment of training and preparedness, the Pine Hill Police Department and the Gloucester Township Police Department are continuing to communicate to their citizens and families that protecting the lives and the safety of their children is a top priority!
