Camden County announces 12 new COVID deaths and 436 new cases between April 24 and April 26

“To date, roughly half of Camden County’s adult population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, but we need everyone to get vaccinated in order to truly end this pandemic," said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 12 new deaths caused by COVID-19, as well as 436 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus confirmed between Saturday, April 24, and Monday, April 26. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 47,273 in Camden County today and 1,167 total fatalities.

“Today is another stark reminder of the potential this disease still has to cause immeasurable harm in our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “To date, roughly half of Camden County’s adult population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, but we need everyone to get vaccinated in order to truly end this pandemic. Fortunately, it has never been easier to get vaccinated, and this morning the county vaccination center announced that it will begin accepting walk-up patients with no appointment. If you haven’t gotten your shot yet, please join us at the vaccine center as soon as possible.”

The Department of Health is announcing 436 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

To date, 381,705 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Camden County. There are 228,781 people with at least one vaccine dose, and 169,232 people who are fully vaccinated.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,377 confirmed resident cases and 1,386 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 47,273 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 466 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,167 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
