Susan H. Swierczynski of Haddonfield and formerly of Philadelphia, died on March 29, at the age of 77.
Susan was born at Chelsea naval hospital in Massachusetts to Helen Mary and Aloysius Anthony Swierczynski. She was the beloved sister of Mary and Eleanor Swierczynski, and the late Robert Swierczynski. Susan was the fun-loving aunt of Augie Swierczynski, Jane Moore, Tracy Khalid, Bobby Swierczynski, Laura Hawley, spouses and their children.
Susan grew up and lived in South Philadelphia and then Northeast Philadelphia. In her senior year at St. Hubert’s High School, she received the algebra prize. She excelled in math. Susan was a devout Catholic and, at age 18, entered the convent to become a nun with the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. After 5 years, she left the religious life. She began working at Bell telephone and learned computer programming, which was a new field at that time. She worked there for over 20 years, holding many diverse positions in different departments. She married Ronald Magee, later divorced and remained friends all her life.
After early retirement, Susan continued to serve her faith, donating her time and resources to Christ the King Church social and faith-based programs. Susan was known to family, neighbors and friends for her good humor, light heartedness and great generosity. Additionally, during her retirement Susan completed a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Holy Family College.
Susan had great fun with her niece’s and nephew’s children, taking great pleasure in treating them to shopping trips, eating experiences and family events.

Susan’s family and friends were invited to her Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, April 7, 11 a.m. at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 200 Windsor Avenue.
Interment was to be private.
