The following release is according to the Voorhees Police Department.

On Monday, March 22, 2021 at approximately 1:28 p.m., Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West End Avenue for a residential house fire. Arriving officers found the structure fully engulfed in flames and were able to confirm that no  occupants were inside the burning structure. Officers assisted with evacuating next-door neighbors and secured a perimeter as the fire was suppressed by Voorhees Fire Department and Cherry Hill Fire Department. Also, several mutual aid fire departments responded and  staged on-scene.

At this time, fire and police officials are investigating to establish the cause of the fire. Two firefighters were taken to area hospitals for injuries sustained during fire suppression. Unfortunately, the family’s two dogs and cat did perish from the fire.
