At approximately 10:15 a.m. Thursday morning, a vehicle plowed through an entrance of the Target store in the Hillview Shopping Center, resulting in injuries to three persons.

According to Cherry Hill Police Detective John Ostermueller, a man in his late 70s from Collingswood, driving a Hyundai Sonata, suffered an unknown medical emergency behind the wheel, causing the car to impact the store through a glass window at an employee-restricted area. Both the driver and his passenger, a 58-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.

An 18-year-old female employee, inside the store at the time of impact, was also injured. All three were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Ostermueller said Cherry Hill Police do not anticipate criminal charges to be filed from the incident.

The store had to be closed for several hours after the incident, to ensure it was safe to operate and to let customers back inside. Per Ostermueller, various electrical issues, as well as glass clean-up, needed to be addressed before the store could be reopened.

The car, which sustained significant front-end damage and was rendered un-driveable, was removed from the scene.
