CamCo reports more than 100 new cases

Though the number of cases increased from average, no fatalities recorded.

The Camden County Department of Health on Tuesday announced 102 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 38,840 in Camden County today and 1,036 total fatalities.

“New cases are down from where they were a few weeks ago, but they are still a long way from zero,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“We are averaging just 100 or so new cases every day, down from more than 300. But this means that COVID-19 is still circulating in our community. Even with trends pointing in the right direction, we have to stay focused and prevent this disease from taking hold in our region again.”

Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,302 confirmed resident cases and 1,308 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 38,840 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 459 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,036 total fatalities countywide.
