Kaitlyn O’Hara, of Medford, died last Wednesday while trying to remove an injured animal from the roadway last week, according to Cherry Hill Police.
O’Hara, 27, worked as a veterinary nurse at The University of Pennsylvania’s animal hospital. She is remembered for her “loving heart,” and the many cats and kittens she fostered, according to an obituary from the funeral home Bradley & Stow.
“Kaitlyn was the splash of life and color to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was fiercely loyal to those close to her. She loved the snow, mountains, bubble baths in huge bath tubs, candles, watching “Friends” on repeat and dancing,” according to the obituary.
O’Hara was attempting to aid an animal off Route 70 near South Frontage Road when she was fatally struck by a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Voorhees man. The Cherry Hill Police Department has not filed charges against the driver.

O’Hara’s family has asked donations be made in her memory to Randall’s Rescue, a Mount Laurel animal rescue O’Hara worked closely with.
