CamCo reporting 248 new COVID-19 cases

No deaths reported, however, on first anniversary of coronavirus discovered in the United States.

The Camden County Department of Health announced on Thursday 248 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 34,436 in Camden County today and 865 total fatalities.

“This time one year ago, we were just beginning to hear of COVID-19 making its way into the United States, but we had no idea just how firm its grip on our nation would become in the months that followed,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“This year too will hold unknown challenges. But, while we are far from the end of this fight, the incredible response I continue to see from our community gives me confidence that we will tackle whatever obstacle we are presented with next, and we will emerge stronger than ever for having done so.”

Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,163 confirmed resident cases and 1,181 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 34,436 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 427 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as four staff deaths, out of our 865 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
