Indian Mills United Methodist launches “Souper Bowl” donation event

Donations to the church will support the "Lord's Pantry," Indian Mills United Methodist's food pantry.

It’s Souper Bowl of Caring time again! Indian Mills United Methodist Church is asking for monetary donations so that it can purchase Shoprite gift cards to help those that use the Lord’s Cupboard, the church’s food pantry.

More than 28 years ago, the Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer from a single youth group:

“Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us be mindful of those without a bowl of soup to eat.”

Souper Bowl of Caring has become a powerful nationwide movement that touches more lives each year. So far the event has collected more than $163 million and over 9 million in food products for local charities across the country.

Be a part of this movement that begins in our own backyard and reaches across the nation, sharing God’s love with those in need. Indian Mills United Methodist will donate to its own “Lord’s Cupboard.” The church’s goal for this year is $750. It collected $702 last year.

Checks can be made out to “IMUM Youth Group”.

Please mail donations to Cynthia Atkins/IMUMC Youth Group Leader, 18 Friar Tuck Drive, Medford, NJ 08055.
