“As the number of new cases continues to rise and fall, we cannot lose sight of just how dangerous our current position remains,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “In other parts of the country, hospitals are being pushed to their capacity and risk seeing the kind of crowding we feared nearly a year ago when this crisis began. In the United Kingdom, the fast-spreading variant of this disease has forced doctors and nurses to make tragic decisions regarding who to treat first. We are not immune to these realities even as vaccinations begin in earnest. We can get to the end of this pandemic without facing these awful scenarios, but only if we continue to wear our masks, social distance and avoid spaces wear the virus can easily spread.”

The Department of Health is announcing 109 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,162 confirmed resident cases and 1,177 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 33,970 in our 56 long-term care facilities.
