The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 780 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed between Saturday, Nov. 14 and Monday, Nov. 16. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 15,784 in Camden County today and 588 total fatalities.
“With Thanksgiving on the horizon, it is critical that everyone understands what’s driving this surge and what we can do to stop it,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “The contact tracers at the Camden County Department of Health are continuing to find that small, indoor gatherings are among the primary ways this virus is spreading. Given the virus’ propensity to spread through individuals who are infected but asymptomatic, it simply is not safe right now to be gathering indoors with people who don’t live in your household. We can get this under control if everyone wears a mask and pauses their indoor activity.”
The Department of Health is announcing 780 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,653 confirmed resident cases and 721 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 15,784 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 347 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 588 total fatalities countywide.
The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
