Gloucester County Veterans Day Ceremony to be held Nov. 11

The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) will hold the 2020 Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. at Rowan College at Gloucester County.

The hour-long ceremony will feature Semper Fidelis Color Guard, Camden County Emerald Society Pipes & Drums, and remarks from guest speaker Bernard Moran, U.S Marine Corp. Retired Afghanistan Veterans, Global War on Terrorism Operation Southern Watch.

The event will take place in the courtyard on the RCSJ Gloucester Campus. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the gymnasium.

“The ceremony is held to honor the bravery, sacrifice, and courage of our veterans who served our country,” said Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger. “I encourage anyone who can attend to join us either in person by RSVPing or online to thank our veterans for their service and for making and keeping our great nation what it is today.”

“We believe it is a privilege and our responsibility to support and provide care to those who served our country. Our veterans have answered our country’s call and it’s extremely important to our county to take time to reflect and remember their sacrifice,” Freeholder Dan Christy, liaison to Veterans Affairs, said.

The Student Veterans Organization will also honor those who served our country and now serve as faculty and staff at Rowan College at Gloucester County.

Virtual attendance is encouraged. If attending in-person, seating is limited and will be appropriately spaced for distancing. Masks will be required for the duration of the event, and while traveling from the parking lot to the ceremony.
