County sees more than 200 COVID-19 cases over two day span

Camden County is announcing 224 cases of COVID-19.

The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) is announcing one new death caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 224 additional cases of the disease confirmed between Tuesday, Nov. 3, and Wednesday, Nov. 4. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 13,092 in Camden County and 581 total fatalities.

The following information is currently available regarding these most recent deaths in Camden County:

New Case 1: MALE, 90s, WATERFORD

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and his family, as well as with the families of everyone we have lost to this insidious virus,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “We are continuing to experience unmitigated spread of this virus and it shows no signs of slowing. Everyone needs to be taking precautions to protect themselves and their families, including avoiding indoor gatherings, wearing a mask whenever you’re around others, social distancing when possible, and working with contact tracers when they call. The coming weeks are going to present new and unprecedented challenges, but we will get through it together and be stronger for it.”

The Department of Health is announcing 224 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,572 confirmed resident cases and 673 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 13,092 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 343 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 581 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.

For those residents who are having difficulty coping with the COVID-19 crisis, please call the Mental Health Association in New Jersey, Inc. at (877) 294- HELP (4357) between the hours of 8AM to 8PM for emotional support, guidance and mental health referrals as needed.
