The Haddon Fortnightly looking to donate backpacks for homeless vets

Donations due no later than Nov. 14.

The Haddon Fortnightly, a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs, is partnering with Operation Chillout, an all-volunteer outreach group, to provide homeless veterans with backpacks filled with items of warm clothing in advance of winter.

We are supporting this statewide project by funding the purchase of backpacks, each of which will be filled with a sweatshirt, thermals, waterproof gloves, warm socks and a cap. Every $25 donated will fund the purchase of one backpack that will be filled with clothing.

Members of the community are invited to join The Haddon Fortnightly in making donations for the purchase of backpacks that will be filled and distributed to homeless veterans, both men and women.

Checks, in the amount of $25 per backpack donated, should be made payable to The Haddon Fortnightly and mailed to P.O. Box 321, Haddonfield, N.J. 08033, no later than Nov. 14. For more information, call Eileen at (856) 745-3139.
