Medford Police offers guidelines for safe Halloween

The Department encourages households distributing treats to take a safe approach.

Medford Township Police Department released safety guidelines for residents planning to participate in trick-or-treating this Halloween.

The Department encourages:

– Avoiding direct contact with trick-or-treaters.

– Giving out treats outdoors, if possible.

– Setting up a station with individually bagged treats for kids to take.

– Washing hands before handling treats.

– Wearing a mask.

For those Medford households who don’t wish to participate in trick-or-treating, consider coordinating with neighbors to develop a system, such as signs or on/off porch lights, for distinguishing houses participating in trick-or-treating from those that do not wish to participate, the Department suggests.
