Haddonfield Lions encourage creative solutions for ‘peace through service’

Annual essay and poster contest deadline is Nov. 7.

The Haddonfield Area Lions Club is sponsoring its annual essay and poster contests for students ages 11 through 13.  This year’s theme for students who are interested in writing an essay is “Peace During the COVID-19 Pandemic.”

The local club and the Lions District 16L are sponsoring the essay contest. Haddonfield students (in public, private or home schooling) who will be 11, 12 or 13 years old by Nov. 15 are allowed to participate. Essays may not be longer than 500 words, must be in English, typed, and double-spaced. Please email essay entries with your name, age, birth date, male or female, school, grade, a parent phone number and a parent email address along with your street address to Heather Lacy at: hlacy@haddonfieldlibrary.org.

The poster theme is “Peace Through Service.” Poster and essay entries are due by Nov. 7. Students may participate in either or both contests. Winning students will receive prizes.

If you would like to participate in the poster portion of the contest, please drop your entry in care of Heather Lacy to the Haddonfield Public Library, and include the same contact information required for the essay. Artwork must be no smaller than 13-by-20 inches and no larger than 20-by-24 inches.
