Gloucester County Women’s Club looking for new members

The service club is currently working on projects for homeless veterans, Ronald McDonald House, and families in need for the holidays

New to the community? Looking to get more involved in the community, find personal enrichment and meet new people?

If so, check out the Gloucester County Women’s Club (GCWC), a nonprofit serving the communities of Gloucester County and other areas. Membership is open to women ages 18 and older.

Even though the club has not been able to meet in person, we are able to keep our members connected by holding our regular monthly meetings through Zoom. These meetings take place in the evening on the second Thursday of each month except for July and August.

The club has managed to complete a variety of projects during this time, including donating a fully cooked breakfast to Ronald McDonald House in Camden, distributing backpacks filled with supplies to schools throughout Gloucester County, holding a clothing drive, supporting the Mothers Matter Virtual 5k Run/Walk by walking at Tall Pines Park as well as giving a monetary donation.  The club has also supplied a few of the area’s elementary schools with subscriptions to Kind News and books for Read for the Record on Oct. 29.

Projects the club members are now working on are collecting sweatshirts for homeless veterans, preparing Snack Packs for Ronald McDonald House, Christmas Stockings for the Troops, and adopting families for Christmas.

The club continues to support the Pitman Pantry and Washington Township’s Mother Cupboard with food and monetary donations.

These are just some of the things we do.  If this sparks your interest, please find more information about the club by visiting the club’s website at www.glocowomensclub.org or check out Gloucester County Women’s Club on Facebook.  For membership info, contact glocowomensclub@gmail.com.
