Occupation: Director, Capital Projects for The Chemours Company
Political Affiliation: Democrat
Clubs/Organizations: Clarksboro Lodge #87 F&AM, Project Management Institute, Mantua Twp Land Use Board, Mantua Twp Veterans Commission, Mantua Twp Environmental Commission

I have lived here for 39 years and am proud to have been given the opportunity to serve the people of the Township for the past nine years. I am running for reelection so that I can continue the work the other Committee members and I have been doing to make Mantua the great place it is. If reelected, I will continue to focus on two main areas: keeping taxes stable and continuing to make infrastructure improvements, such as repairing our roads and improving our parks.

In my professional career, I am responsible for developing and controlling operating budgets much larger than our Township’s. I use this experience during the budgeting process and have been able to make numerous cost-saving recommendations that have been implemented. Since 2010, the amount of State Aid the Township has received has remained flat. During that time, costs have continued to increase, yet we have been able to avoid large tax increases by attracting good businesses and finding other creative ways to generate revenue. Although only 20% of our taxes go to the Township, in order to be able to continue to provide the high-quality municipal services that we are all accustomed to: community events at Chestnut Branch Park, numerous programs for our seniors, monthly bulk trash collection, spring and fall leaf collection, etc., we must continue the process of reducing costs and generating revenue outside of tax collection. The experience I bring from the private sector has proven to be invaluable in this effort.

Name: Sean Sepsey
Occupation: School IT Administrator
Political Affiliation: Republican
Clubs/Organizations: (Former) Mantua Police Explorer, (Former) Mantua Recreation Committee

I am running for Mantua Township Committee because our town deserves honest and passionate leadership. As a former Chief of the Mantua Police Explorers and member of our town’s Recreation Committee, I have spent much of my life as a proud and committed public servant. As Committeeman, I will put Mantua’s community and development above all else. That means I will vote against raising taxes on hard working families. I will fight to create incentives to bring desirable businesses, jobs and income to our town. We will add more and better programs for our senior citizens. Ultimately, I will bring accountability and transparency to our local government.

Mantua citizens deserve more from our elected officials and we can only benefit from a diverse set of ideas tackling these issues. I am enthusiastic and energized to bring greater prosperity to our town, and I promise you won’t regret casting your vote for me this election season.
