Three deaths, 43 additional cases reported by CamCo

The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) on Friday recorded three new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 43 additional cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 10,764 in Camden County and 558 total fatalities.

The following information is currently available regarding these most recent deaths in Camden County:

“I am deeply saddened to announce that three Camden County residents have lost their lives in recent days due to COVID-19,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“Today has been a stark reminder that this pandemic is not over, the fight against this virus has not been won, and each of us still faces tremendous risks. We cannot let our guards down and we must continue to take all precautions to protect ourselves and one another. Wear a mask, social distance, and work with our contact tracing team if they call.”

Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,448 confirmed resident cases and 607 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 10,764 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 327 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 558 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
