Some of the Moorestown residents, at the Laurel Creek Mews, are participating virtually, in the Semper Five. The Semper Five is a 5K/1M Run/Walk, and even though it has only been in existence for a relatively short period of time, it is one of the largest events of its kind, in New Jersey.

All proceeds from the event go to the Marine Raider Foundation. The Foundation is a 501C nonprofit organization which supports Marine and sailors who have lost their lives or who have been seriously injured, in service to our country.

In the past five years the Semper Five has been able to raise more than $250,000 for the foundation. This year the event will be largely virtual due to the coronavirus and will take place on October 3. So far, there are about 30 Moorestown residents who will be participating in the event this year.

Military personnel at the United States Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan signed and sent a banner to the Moorestown participants. They have participated in the event, virtually, for the past five years. This year they will be one of three United States Embassies participating.
