I hope you and your families are doing well. Despite the difficulties that our community has been facing due to the Coronavirus, we have been able to keep the town running effectively and efficiently. We have recently opened the municipal building to the public and have seen an influx of traffic in each department, especially Construction and Zoning. There are many projects near completion as well as many new proposed projects. We have made some necessary changes to the municipal building itself as well as specific requirements when entering, but all departments are still running normally. We needed to do this to keep everyone safe and well.
I encourage you to continue to support our local businesses and help them thrive again as they are an important part of our town. I am so proud to be a part of such a compassionate community that really shows how committed we are to helping those in need.

Outdoor Art Exhibit at Washington Lake Park
I am pleased to share that the Sustainable Washington Township Creative Team is hosting their first ever art exhibit at their outdoor gallery in Washington Lake Park Amphitheater. The exhibit entitled “Earth without Art is just eh” and will feature works from almost 50 artists and photographers throughout South Jersey. The Sustainable WT Creative Team had over 70 submissions! The outdoor, first-of-its-kind exhibit will be displayed until October. Please take a ride to Washington Lake Park to support the Sustainable Creative Team and the hard work they have put forth. Please come and enjoy the art.
2020 Census
Residents: it is not too late to fill out the 2020 Census. Your confidential answers to the Census can impact funding for roads, libraries and schools. Your response can help small businesses make critical decisions on expansions, closures, hiring strategies and much more. The results of the 2020 Census will help determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding flow into communities every year for the next decade. The funding shapes many different aspects of every community, regardless of size, or location. Census results influence highway planning and construction, as well as grants for buses, subways, and other public transit systems. Census results can also help determine how money is allocated for the Head Start program and for grants that support teachers and special education. The list goes on, including programs to support rural areas, to restore wildlife, to prevent child abuse, to prepare for wildfires, and to provide housing assistance for older adults. Please answer the questions as it will take less than 10 minutes. It is especially important now more than ever as the State of New Jersey recovers from the physical and the economic toll of the pandemic.
