On Friday July 24, at approximately 3:15 a.m., Cherry Hill Police Officers arrived
at the Days Inn for the report of a shooting.
It was determined a firearm was discharged from inside a room and the bullet traveled through two adjacent rooms that were occupied. The individuals in the room where the incident originated were uncooperative, ignored police commands, and refused to exit.
A police negotiator was able to make contact with three of the occupants and after a period of time, they surrendered without incident. Once officers made entry, they located a semi-automatic handgun and the final occupant hiding in the bed frame. All four occupants of the room were arrested without incident. Nearby rooms were evacuated and there were no injuries to police, any bystanders or the occupants of the room.
One defendant was transported to a local hospital for the complaint of chest pain.
