The following is a release by the Greater Berlin Business and Professional Association:
The Greater Berlin Business and Professional Association (GBBPA) members have made a difficult decision to cancel the annual Berlin Boro Fall Festival out of interest for public health and safety in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision by the GBBPA committee was not made lightly and we have been reviewing the possible options over the past couple of months. Unfortunately, after examining all of these options it has become clear that holding the 2020 festival could jeopardize the health of the festival volunteers, community services, vendors and residents of this town. The uncertainty of how long the virus’s threat will last, bans on mass gatherings, and social-distancing policies are major factors that impact our attempts to plan this event.
In addition, we recognize that so many of our business participants, sponsors, and suppliers have endured a significant financial impact. Many of these businesses are an integral part of this event by financially sponsoring activities, as well as, purchasing merchandise to hand out to the folks attending the fall festival.
The GBBPA recognizes that the Berlin Fall Festival is one that our community looks forward to every year. We appreciate your excitement and support you have shown throughout the years enjoying a fun filled day for all ages.
The GBBPA is currently planning to host the next Berlin Boro Fall Festival on Oct. 9, 2021 after the cancellation of this years event.
