CH man facing charges for attempted murder

A Cherry Hill man allegedly attacked his ex-wife with a sharp object in Audubon Park.

A Cherry Hill man is facing numerous charges after he reportedly attacked his ex-wife with a sharp object in Audubon Park on July 19, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Haddon Township Police Chief Mark Cavallo.

Philip Puche, 72, of Cherry Hill, has been charged with the following:

  • One count of first-degree Attempted Murder
  • One count of first-degree Armed Robbery
  • One count of second-degree Burglary
  • One count of second-degree Aggravated Assault
  • One count of third-degree Aggravated Assault on a Domestic Violence Victim
  • One count of third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose
  • One count of fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon

Police were called to the intersection of Turtledove Court and Road C in Audubon Park for a reported stabbing shortly after 10 a.m. When they arrived, they found the victim suffering from multiple stab and slash wounds.

She was able to provide Puche’s name as the name of her attacker before being taken to an area hospital. The victim remains in critical condition.

Through the investigation, detectives found surveillance footage that showed the victim being attacked. Further investigation led to the discovery of surveillance footage showing Puche driving in the area of the victim’s home the day of the attack.

Puche was arrested by the Cherry Hill Police Department on July 19 and was charged in connection to the crime.

He is currently being held in the Camden County Jail awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
