Motor vehicle crashes:

June 16 – N. Main Street and David Drive – two vehicles, no injuries, hit and run

June 18 – Harrisonville Road and Hunters Creek Drive – One vehicle versus a deer, no injuries

June 19 – Mullica Hill Road and Aura Road – Two vehicles, no injuries

June 19 – Mullica Hill Road and Bishop Road – Two vehicles, no injuries

June 22 – In the parking lot of 143 Bridgeton Pike – two vehicles, no injuries

June 25 – Aura Road and Williamson Lane – two vehicles, no injuries

 

Investigations and arrests:

June 17 – Units responded to the Spring Mill apartment complex on Walnut Lane for a fraud complaint. The resident reported sending $190 through the Zelle app for an Xbox, however the Xbox was never received.

June 17 – Ptl. Michael Flannery conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 55 after receiving complaints about a vehicle in the lot of the Mullica Hill Road Sunoco. Flannery monitored the vehicle and its occupants and observed several motor vehicle violations upon it leaving the parking lot of the Sunoco. While speaking with the driver, a 49-year-old Philadelphia woman, and the passenger, a 39-year-old Philadelphia woman, Flannery observed prescription bottles in plain view that did not belong to either of the occupants. After removing the occupants from the vehicle, a probable cause search yielded five glassine baggies and one small red top plastic jar containing white/clear crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine, one brown/orange gummy substance wrapped in a wax paper suspected to contain marijuana, on digital scale, 57 white pills suspected to be gabapentin, 27 white pills suspected to be 800mg ibuprofen, 26 pink and maroon capsules suspected to be minocycline hydrochloride, 12 white pills suspected to be clarithromycin, one blue pill suspected to be alprazolam (xanax), three blue pills suspected to be diazepam (valium), one white pill suspected to be oxycodone hydrochloride, two blue pills suspected to be oxycodone hydrochloride, one white pill suspected to be alprazolam (xanax), one unmarked brown pill, four white pills suspected to be cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride, one white unmarked pill, one piece of a broken blue pill, one unmarked pink pill, one pink capsule suspected to be Effexor, two yellow pills suspected to be cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride, five white pills suspected to be amlodipine besylate, one piece of suspected crystal methamphetamine, four unmarked brown pills, one pill suspected to be prednisone, three white pills suspected to be gabapentin, 15 yellow capsules suspected to be gabapentin, one unmarked brown pill, one piece of a pink pill, five white pills suspected to be metoprolol, three orange pill bottles, eight jars with methamphetamine residue, one piece of a straw and 309 plastic baggies of various sizes. The two women were arrested and each charged with one count of distribution of methamphetamine, two counts of possession of methamphetamine and possession of schedule pills, one count of distribution of prescription legend drugs, one count of possession of prescription legend drugs, one count of possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of failure to surrender CDS. The passenger was additionally charged with hindering apprehension after initially providing a false name to avoid being arrested on a warrant out for her arrest. The driver of the vehicle was issued several motor vehicle summonses. Both subjects were lodged in the Salem County Correctional Facility pending a hearing in Gloucester County Superior Court.

June 18 – Units responded to Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill to assist the Milford, Delaware Police with a missing juvenile investigation. Officers stood by with the subject until the arrival of DCPP.

June 18 – Units responded to Mullica Hill Road and Edison Parkway for a hazardous road condition. An unknown vehicle struck one of the traffic signals, damaging it. NJDOT was notified and responded to repair.

June 18 – Units responded to the Mullica West Apartment complex on Woodstown Road for a fraud complaint. A resident reported that his neighbor used his debit card without authorization. The victim is giving the neighbor one week to pay back the money or he will sign complaints.

June 18 – Units responded to the 300 block of Stonehouse Lane for a speak to officer call. The caller just wanted to advise the police department that they are thankful for all they do.

June 18 – Units responded to the Amish Market on Swedesboro Road after the Gloucester County Health Department called to advise they were allowing indoor dining. Officers advised the manager they must follow the executive order regarding same.

June 18 – Officers responded to the 400 block of Otter Court for a civil matter complaint of damaged property. The caller reported her cleaning service caused a scratch to an end table and bedroom dresser. The service was contacted and advised they would fix the damage.

June 18 – Units responded to the unit block of South Main Street for a criminal mischief complaint. The victim reported that, upon returning to her vehicle after shopping, unknown actor(s) utilized a key or other sharp object to scratch her front and rear driver’s side doors.

June 18 – Ptl. Greg Germscheid conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Breakneck Road and Cedar Road. Upon interviewing the driver, a 29-year-old Clayton man, Germscheid was given consent to search the vehicle, and as he approached the vehicle, the man stated that there was marijuana and cocaine in a black bag in the vehicle. The vehicle search yielded 29 green plastic vials containing a white rocky substance suspected to be crack cocaine, four sandwich bags containing a greenish brown vegetation suspected to be marijuana, 10 orange heat sealed baggies containing a white rocky substance suspected to be crack cocaine, one marijuana grinder and $1,142 of U.S. currency broken down into small denominations. The man was charged with distribution of cocaine, distribution of marijuana distribution within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also issued several motor vehicle summonses. He was lodged in the Salem County Jail pending a hearing in Gloucester County Superior Court.

June 20 – Ptl. Kenneth Rodgers conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Mullica Hill Road and Aura Road. Upon interviewing the occupants of the vehicle, Rodgers detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. All occupants were removed from the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted. The search yielded one clear, plastic zip lock bag containing approximately 15.1 grams of greenish brown vegetation suspected to be marijuana, one clear plastic zip lock bag containing approximately 55.4 grams of suspected marijuana, two small clear plastic jars containing suspected marijuana residue, one clear plastic jar containing suspected marijuana residue, one CR brand digital scale, a white shoe box containing a measuring cup, digital scale and four plastic zip lock bags, and $935 in U.S. currency. The vehicles front seat passenger,  20-year-old man from Philadelphia, admitted that the contraband all belonged to him. He was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters and charged with possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana, distribution of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a summons to appear in Gloucester County Superior Court.

June 20 – Units responded to the 400 block of Richwood Road for a reported theft from a vehicle. The resident advised that unknown actor(s) entered his unlocked vehicle and removed his wallet which contained cash and credit/debit cards.

June 22 – Ptl. Kurt Pflugfleder conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 55 in the area of mile marker 49.6 for a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound travel lanes. The driver of the vehicle, a 39-year-old Philadelphia man,  presented with a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath. After performing poorly on standardized field sobriety tests, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed, breath tested, issued numerous motor vehicle summonses and released to a sober party pending a hearing in Harrison Township Municipal Court.

June 22 – Ptl. Kenneth Rodgers observed an occupied suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of Richwood Road. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen as reported to the New Jersey State Police Woodstown barracks. The occupant of the vehicle, a 49-year-old Salem woman, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia after a search of the vehicle yielded a crack pipe and five hypodermic syringes. She was released on a summons to appear in Gloucester County Superior Court. The vehicle was turned over to the state police barracks.

June 22 – A resident of the 600 block of Balis Drive reported her vehicle stolen sometime between 4:15 and 5:22 a.m. The vehicle was unlocked with the keys in the vehicle at the time of the theft.

June 22 – Cpl. Patrick Morris conducted a motor vehicle stop on Bridgeton Pike in the area of ShopRite. The driver of the vehicle, a 53-year-old Elk Township woman, signed a consent to search form after initially providing false name information to Morris. A search of the vehicle yielded, a clear plastic baggie with a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine, four orange pills stamped “54-375” suspected to be suboxone, and three plastic straws containing white powdery residue suspected to be cocaine. The woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released on a summons to appear in Gloucester County Superior Court.

June 22 – Units responded to Inspira Hospital for a report of criminal mischief. It was reported that a patient became unruly and damaged the screen of a Phillips MX450 IntelliVue monitor causing it to become inoperable.

June 24 – Units responded to Inspira Hospital for an uncooperative patient. Officers spoke with the patient and staff for several minutes and the subject calmed down.

June 24 – Units responded to Inspira Hospital for a disorderly subject in the emergency room. Upon speaking with the subject, he agreed to leave the property.

June 25 – Units responded to the Mullica West apartment complex for a fight. Upon arrival, two intoxicated male subjects had been engaged in an altercation. Both parties wanted police intervention and had subsequently left with their mother who had come to take them home so they could sober up.

June 25 – Units responded to Deluxe Nails and Spa for a reported burglary. The owner reported that unknown actor(s) disabled the security system and forced entry through the rear door. Once inside, approximately $13,000 in cash was taken from the ATM and a bank bag located in the front of the store. Officers were subsequently sent to Mullica Hill Nails and Spa at 127 Bridgeton Pike for another burglary. The unknown actor(s) forced entry through the rear door. Approximately $400 was taken from this business.

June 25 – Units responded to the Inspira Cancer Center at for a reported theft. An office manager reported the theft of $45 from the petty cash drawer.

June 26 – While patrolling the businesses on Bridgeton Pike, Ptl. Kenneth Rodgers observed a male sleeping on a bench in front of Chianti Restaurant at 127 Bridgeton Pike Suite A. The subject was found to have three warrants out of Paulsboro totaling $1,925.08 and a no bail warrant from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. The subject was turned over to the Camden County Jail for the no bail warrant.

June 26 – Units responded to the 500 block of Clems Run for a fraud complaint. The resident advised of receiving a Monetary Determination Form in the mail from the New Jersey Department of Labor Unemployment Insurance Office in regards to a claim submitted under his name. The resident reports he is employed and did not file the claim and advised NJDOL of same.

June 26 – Ptl. Robert May was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Mullica Hill Road and Route 55 and conducted a motor vehicle stop for multiple violations. Upon speaking to the occupants of the vehicle, May detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A probable cause  search yielded a clear Ziploc baggie containing seven smaller clear plastic baggies containing a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana. The front seat passenger, an 18-year-old man from Fairless Hills, Pa., admitted the contraband was his. He was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed and released with a summons to appear in Harrison Township Municipal Court.
